I am blessed to be a part of ELLS and would like to share with you who they are:

ELLS PURPOSE The Purpose of ELLS International is to serve and strengthen the church in remote areas of the developing world by equipping its leaders to effectively shepherd the flock of God.

ELLS FOCUS The primary focus of ELLS International shall be to provide church leaders in developing countries training and tools for feeding their congregations through expository biblical preaching and teaching and through appropriate application of the Scriptures.

ELLS VISION Under-shepherds in remote areas of develop-ing countries who in spite of limited resources, are able to shepherd the Lord’s flock well, feeding the sheep from the Word of God so that it gives life.

ELLS PARTNERSHIPS ELLS International facilitates local churches ministering to other local churches through facilitating partnerships.  It promotes churches working together to serve sister churches in remote areas. ELLS serves as a link between churches sending trainers and  resources and those sending leaders to be
trained. These partnerships are reflected through shared people gifted by God as trainers and administrators, shared resources, shared financial responsibility, and shared ministry.  God is glorified and the credibility of the Gospel  message we preach is enhanced when partnerships are forged between traditionally divided denominational and/or tribal entities as they host training events in the target areas.

Nehemiah 8:2-3 & 7-8 Ezra read from the law "…n the presence of all who could understand; and all the people were attentive to the book of the law." Then a number of Levitical leaders "…xplained the law to the people…They read from the book, from the law of God, explaining it to give the sense so that they understood the reading." The result was that the people "...understood the words which had been made known to them… and their lives were changed!

2 Timothy 2:2 "...and what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men who will be able to teach others also."

God's healing and His love

Still trying to catch everyone up.  February saw me traveling up into a rural area of Kenya, to teach God's Word at a women's conference.   Oh how I love Jesus!!!!

Pictures will tell the story:  To God be all the glory

He is the great Counselor, and Healer
There was much brokenness the women live such a hard life, I have no words to explain the lives that they have, but God knows and He knows what they need.  We watched in humble admiration as the Holy Spirit lead them to repentance, healing, and restoration, and as He prepared them to hear the teachings Sunday on forgiveness.   Not only the women, but also the whole church.
Sunday started at 5 am, for me, in prayer asking the Holy Spirit to put me aside and use me as His vessel to deliver His words on forgiveness.  We serve a Holy, Sovereign, Amazing God.  A time of worship, (one day you all will share in the worship with our African sisters, and brothers!) A time of teaching, a time of prayer, and a time of studying God's Word on forgiveness.

He wants to heal His children, He wants His children to live in freedom, He wants the chains broken, and as the day moved forward He gave us the privilege of seeing Him do just that.  We couldn't end, He gave us the strength, the words, and the prayers to keep going until after 7 pm that day.  Praise His Holy Name.  It is only by His Amazing Grace.

I know this is March, but the following is for January.

It has been quite a while since my last update.  Since returning to Africa, it seems like it has been a constant go, with areas of no internet and no way to update my blog.  But now I am in a slow time, with internet, so I am going to attempt to update you for January and February.

January saw me traveling to Uganda, to be a part of two pastor's conferences in different rural areas of Uganda.  Plus being able to be with the women, and Children and by God's grace to help them understand who they are in Christ.   So I will let pictures tell the rest of this story:

First Conference

Second Conference

They are so, so hungry for God's Word, to learn, to understand, to apply.  The teaching for the two conferences was the Old and New Testament surveys, in storytelling form.  Some of the challenges we face in these areas are: language, education, meetings not starting on time, teachings that have to be adjusted due to time or understanding, heat, no electricity, generators that don't always work, miss-communication, these are just a few, HOWEVER they are not challenges that our Lord and Savior has any problems with, He bridges them all.  He gives us wisdom, insight and discernment to know how to adjust, and language does not stop HIM.  And He allows us to be a part of what He is doing!  Thank you Jesus!!  HIS AMAZING GRACE.
We take so much for granted, and sometimes we bring those assumptions with us.  In the US we assume everyone knows the story, of God's grace, Adam and Eve, the Messiah, how Jesus came so that we can be saved, that HE lives, and HE will come again, we know how the story goes (or we think everyone does).  Some have said the people here have nothing, well that is nothing by our standards, not theirs, if you could see the smiles on their faces, hear their laughter, see their eyes light up, feel the joy in their hearts, you would never say they have nothing, and then through His Holy Spirit they receive a deeper understanding of God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. Their worship and dancing brings glory to God.  What a humbling and amazing thing to watch as God continues to let us be a part of what He is doing in so many lives and the blessing He gives as He shows us some of the fruit. One pastor said "Now they can see Jesus in the Old Testament, this teaching has given them courage to receive more; a new revelation "mans sins." I could go on and on with testimonies of how the Holy Spirit opened their minds and their hearts to a deeper understanding.  Praise His Holy name!!!
